What are some modern examples of magical realism?
Q. I don't want, like, specific book titles or characters but actual everyday activities that would fall under the category "magical realism" for example: a girl plants seeds and it looks like she is gardening, but when the trees grow they have fruit flavored lotion on them.

A. A crazy man sees the moon caught in a dead tree. He says, I am going to eat that moon. People tell him, it is just an optical illusion. The moon is really very far away. But he says no, the moon is caught in the tree. So he goes to the tree and throws a sack over it and brings the moon home in his sack. He tastes it. It is cold and sweet. It has big black seeds, which he plants. Moon trees grow, each bearing delicious moons, moons of silver and pearl. He gives them away to the doubters.

Q. For example, when indicating Courbet's works involve realism, what does that mean exactly?

A. Realism is the idea that an artist tends to use photography or some other source of research in order to create a piece of art with,...the true meaning of the word as a term is that a piece of art will represent a subject in such a way that the finished product will closely resemble the subject matter to a degree that it is "convincing" to the inevitable observer.
