Being a bit more objective I can tell you that: # A lot -and I say really a lot- of people claim that Greek, especially heard from a distance or when you are close to a small crowd, sounds similar to Spanish (Castilian Spanish spoken in Spain) # Italian, Castilian Spanish and Greek share a five-vowel scheme /i,e,a,o,u/ which does create a phonetic similarity.
