It is usually located near and administered by a church. The word graveyard stems from the Anglo-Saxon words "graf" meaning a pit, and "yairden" meaning garden or open place Since the mid-1800s, the term cemetery has become a more popular label for most burying grounds. I remember seeing a movie ages ago where a man owns a hotel (I think) that was built on a graveyard. Then his daughter gets possessed and turns big and green and has a deep voice. Q. In the Sims 3, some of my family members have died. I picked up their grave stones, then went and placed them inside the graveyard. At night time, ghosts from other grave stones appear, but does anyone know if my dead family member's ghosts will ever appear? Asked by Moople - Sat Mar 6 05:31:11 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. It depends where you put their tombstone thing. The exact place they die, they leave a tombstone. Wherever that is, they will arise. Answered by Kestiny - Sun Mar 7 00:21:22 2010 What do you suppose we'd do next if we found a formal graveyard elsewhere in our solar system?
Q. I'm not talking a destroyed civilization with mass graves, I'm talking a formal graveyard like you'd find outside an ancient church with grave markers, headstones, fenced-in, etc. Do you suppose we'd desecrate it like we do the ancient ones we find on Earth or leave it alone and first look for the civilization who put it there? Asked by martinlh - Sun Feb 21 16:58:23 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. well obviously only civilizations bury their dead - so that would be tremendously exciting. I think we'd partially desecrate them - do what we did to the ancient ones on earth, but with modern technology. Find out as much as we can about the occupants - are they carbon based like us? and any skeletal remains would help us picture what they looked like. There could be hints from what they were buried with and how as to their culture and beliefs. All these things might help us track them down by matching planet environments to what they left behind.
