From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging symbolic elements in a way that influences and affects the senses, emotions, and/or intellect. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, photography, sculpture, and paintings. The meaning of art is explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics. Traditionally, the term art was used to refer to any skill or mastery. This conception changed during the Romantic period, when art came to be seen as "a special faculty of the human mind to be classified with religion and science". Generally, art is made with the intention of stimulating thoughts and emotions. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Isn't altered art the same as recycled art because you are taking something that exsits for another purpose and making it into new art? Asked by Skyezlymet - Fri Feb 22 06:28:34 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Actual, pure art is not for a certain purpose. It's purpose is different depending on who is experiencing the art. Art is an expression open to any and all interpretation. It cannot be recycled or altered. It just is. Its alive. What is the typical process through out the year to prepare for community displays like youth art month? Are there any tricks that save you headaches right before a show? Asked by Gayle - Fri Mar 6 15:29:59 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. We just had our all-school art show at our local mall, and for me it was best to keep all the students' artworks from all of this year in a class portfolio (I also have cubbyholes divided by grade).* My assistant and I sorted the work so that on a specific day, I could give one child back all five pieces of artwork from the year, then I ask them to pick and hold up the one they want to use. I believe this gives them more choice and involvement in the show, and it makes for a great variety of work while guaranteeing that the child is proud of their work on display. Then, when you have the "Third Grade" area, you have 5 different types of 3rd grade work on display rather than just a million versions of the same class project. Q. I am doing a project on the art of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and one of the parts is writing a one page essay about the art of the Middle Ages. I already wrote about its features, I just don't know how it reflects the social concerns of this time period. Thanks. Asked by nymbear42 - Fri Apr 10 16:03:47 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. The art from the middle ages is all very gloomy and sad showing hoe they were not optimistic socially but the Renaissance is brought and happy showing the opposite, see more at Answered by Scott A - Fri Apr 10 16:28:33 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "art" From Wikiquote under the GNU Free Documentation License. |
