Creativity is the ability to generate innovative ideas and manifest them from thought into reality. The process involves original thinking and then producing.

The process of creation was historically reserved for deities creating "from nothing" in Creationism and other creation myths. Over time, the term creativity came to include human innovation, especially in art and science and led to the emergence of the creative class.

Are the attributes of creativity, flexibility and communication important in an effective psychologist?
Q. I have a uni assignment for my academic literacies class, asking me to write about whether or not the attributes of creativity, flexiblity and communication are important in my chosen field - psychology. Just looking for an outside opinion, and new thoughts on the question.

A. Yes to all 3! I am not a psychologist but i wanted to be one at one time in my life. In my opinion you deal with a wide variety of personality types so you have to be creative in your ways to relate to people whom you don't normally have anything in common with, cuz lets be honest as much as one may like to think they can relate to all there is always gonna be someone that you just can't get through to using the normal methods because they are guarded too much and disinterested in sharing problems with a stranger. Second, flexibility, depends on what you mean... you may have to be flexible in the times and places in which you have sessions with your clients. Thirdly, obviously communication is key, if you can't listen and respond… [cont.]

Artists: Do you have suggestions on how to get creativity flowing?
Q. I have never taken any art classes and I am fairly new at this. I paint and draw, but there are many times I sit and just stare at paper. Any suggestions of different activities you have done to help get your creativity flowing would be greatly appreciated.

A. Sometimes get up and walk around...get a new perspective...go outside and enjoy the sunshine...Start praising God for His creation...that always makes me more creative, I write poems and thinking of Him always helps me.
